Free game anyone?

Wed Oct 7, 2009, 8:57 AM
Long story short, a few weeks ago I bought a DS game on ebay. All seemed ok, the listing, the positive feedback on the seller, and so on. Then a week later I got it in the post. The moment I laid eyes on the case it hit me...

It was a bootleg.

I mean, the case was nothing like a DS case. It took me half an hour to open the damn thing too. The booklet inside was poorly stapled together and the text inside made no sense and hardly told you how to play the game. The game itself, seemed to work ok, but I wanted my money back because I had a feeling the save feature will break soon (knowing these bootlegs). So I went on ebay only to find out that the seller had closed their account leaving hundreds of angry buyers behind. I contacted paypal and opened up a fraud case. They said I had to send the game back to get a refund, but I had no return to sender address, so I was screwed. And if I did send it back there is a high chance of the seller denying I bought the item in the first place. So a week after, paypal closed the case. No chnace of me getting my money back ever.

That was some time ago now and I'm well over it, but I am more careful when buying stuff. Mind you, I felt I was being careful back then. You can't win really. So here I have a bootleg copy of Digimon World Dusk. The save feature no longer works, but the rest of the game does. However if you wanted a digimon to trade over to another copy, you may have to play non-stop to get it. So if you want it for whatever reason (even if you could recycle the cartridge) just say so and its yours. If you want the crappy case and booklet I'll send that too.

Holla if interested. If not, do you have a bootleg story to tell?

I would say yes for shits and giggles... but I have no DS... So it would be an exercise in 'how to destroy this piece of bootleg crap' and I bet someone could get more enjoyment out of it.

awww, poor you. I would almost feel guilty saying that I would want a free game regardless of it being bootleg, but there you go, I have no morales, and I like digimon. lol

Yeh, I have bought a few bootleg games unintentionally, but havent had problems with the games themselves. I didnt even have a problem sending them back to the seller, although they hadnt closed down their account so it made it easier.

My girlfriend even bought me a statue that was a poor rip-off and shoddily painted. Lucky she checked as I would have thought thats how it was supposed to be...rather shit looking. lol

Guess I have been lucky...well, apart from the bootleg t-shirts selling my artwork on them all the time.
